Spa Break Cost UK: £169 a Night to £550 for Two Nights

The usual spa break cost in the UK is about £150 to £280 per person for one night, which normally covers the room, dinner, breakfast, spa use and one treatment. A two-night full-board stay at a destination spa costs about £440 to £550 per person, and a spa day without a room starts at around £40 for a two-hour session. So a one-night break for two usually comes to £300 to £560, before drinks and extra treatments.

These figures are not survey averages. They come from the prices the spas themselves publish, which we checked on their own websites on 8 November 2026. Spa prices change with the season and the day of the week, and the figures below are mostly “from” prices for the cheapest date, so treat them as a floor.

What makes the same break cost more

The night of the week. At Titanic Spa the Friday night break is £199 and the Sunday night stopover is £189, with the same 55-minute facial and the same meals. That £10 gap is small at a spa that already prices Fridays sensibly; at many hotels, a Saturday night costs much more than a Sunday to Thursday night. Our cheapest time to book a spa break calendar lists every half term, bank holiday and gifting date that pushes prices up until summer 2027.

Meals and treatments. A package with dinner, breakfast and a 55-minute treatment is the usual mid-range bundle. Adding a second treatment costs more: Titanic’s Indulge break with two 55-minute treatments is from £279 per person, against £169 for the version with one. Champneys sells add-on treatment collections from £85 to £135 at its resorts.

How many nights. A second night adds less than you might think, because it buys a full day in the spa rather than an afternoon and a morning. Titanic’s Luxury 2 Night Retreat is £439 per person with two treatments. Compare that with two separate November one-night breaks at the £169 “from” price, which would be £338 but with one treatment each time and two check-ins; the two-night package is the more relaxing booking, not the cheaper one.

Luxury level. A destination spa such as Ragdale Hall, where all meals and classes are included, starts at £550 per person for two nights. A top-end hotel spa with a famous name can cost more for one night than that. Our luxury spa breaks page covers what you get for the extra.

Solo travel. Most spa break prices assume two people sharing a room. Going alone usually means a single supplement or a smaller allocation of single rooms; Ragdale Hall notes that its single rooms are limited in number. Our solo spa breaks page lists spas that are fairer to solo guests.

Extras to budget for

The package price is rarely the final bill. Before you book, check:

  • Drinks with dinner. Almost never included, and spa hotel wine lists are priced like hotel wine lists.
  • Extra treatments. Booked on the day they cost full price, and popular slots go first, so book any extras with the break.
  • Upgrades and supplements. Better rooms, Friday or Saturday nights and peak dates often carry a supplement on top of the “from” price.
  • Spa access times. Some breaks give spa use from arrival to departure; others limit it to set sessions. Check if you arrive early or leave late.
  • Robes and slippers. Normally included on overnight breaks, but not always on budget spa days.
  • Travel and parking. Most destination spas are rural, so allow for fuel or a taxi from the station.

If you are paying with a voucher, see our guide to spa voucher expiry and your rights first, and our page on VAT on spa treatments and vouchers explains why the price can change on a voucher bought before a VAT change.

How to pay less for a spa break

  1. Go Sunday to Thursday. Midweek and Sunday nights are cheaper than Friday and Saturday at almost every spa hotel.
  2. Pick the quiet months. January and early February are usually the cheapest weeks of the year, once the Christmas packages are over.
  3. Book late, midweek. Spas discount unsold midweek rooms close to the date; see last-minute spa breaks.
  4. Use a code or a membership. Our spa break discount codes page lists the codes that work and the ones that do not.
  5. Try a twilight session instead of a full day. At around £40, an evening spa session gives most of the relaxation for a fraction of a break.

The UK Spa Association publishes the standards its member spas follow, which is a useful check on a spa you have not heard of before. Frequently asked questions

How much does a spa break cost in the UK for two people? A one-night break for two with dinner, breakfast and a treatment each usually costs £300 to £560 in total, based on the per person prices spas published in November 2026. Two nights full board at a destination spa costs around £880 to £1,100 for two, and luxury couples packages start at about £1,600.

Is a spa break cheaper midweek? Yes, at most spas. Sunday to Thursday nights are usually priced lower than Friday and Saturday, because the price is built on the hotel’s room rate. At Titanic Spa, the Sunday night stopover is £189 per person against £199 for the same package on a Friday.

What is usually included in a spa break price? Normally a room shared by two, breakfast, dinner, use of the spa facilities, and often one treatment. Many packages also include lunch on arrival. Drinks, extra treatments and room upgrades are almost always extra.

How much is a spa day in the UK? From about £39 to £50 per person for a twilight or two-hour session without a treatment, and about £100 to £155 for a full day with a treatment and lunch. Thermae Bath Spa’s two-hour session is £42.50 Monday to Friday.

Do I pay more for a spa break on my own? Usually. Prices are quoted per person based on two sharing, so a solo guest either pays a single supplement or books one of a small number of single rooms.

When is the cheapest time to book a spa break? A Sunday to Thursday night in term time, outside bank holidays, Valentine’s weekend and Mothering Sunday. January and early February are usually the cheapest weeks of the year.
